National Zoo/Smithsonian Museums – Washington, D.C.
The National Zoo, is one of the oldest zoos in the United States. It is part of the Smithsonian Institution and does not charge for admission. The Zoo has been the home to giant pandas since 1972.
The Air & Space Museum maintains the largest collection of historic air and spacecraft in the world. The museum has thousands of objects on display, daily tours and educational activities to fill your day’s visit.
Washington, D.C. offers eight monuments and memorials that are a must see. There are the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, Thomas Jefferson Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Martin Luther King, World War II Memorial, Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial that are in walking distance of each other.
